August 14th marks the 90th anniversary of Social Security! Social Security helps 16 million older adults and roughly 1 million children stay above the poverty line every month, and 97 percent of Americans receive or will receive Social Security after earning it through years of hard work. Yet, our earned benefits continue to be subjected to unprecedented attacks.
AFT has partnered with several groups including AFGE and ARA. Several events are planned for the coming days with a kick-off scheduled for August 7th at 3PM Pacific Daylight Time and other activities next week.
