Medicare Open Enrollment is upon us. With all the insurer changes going on there is more than enough confusion going around – confusion that we do not need. According to a SHIBA rep at the state, Providence Medicare Advantage plans in Multnomah, Clackamas, Washington, and Columbia counties and Samaritan Medicare Advantage plans in Linn, Benton and Lincoln counties were cancelled but other options are available.
SHIBA Oregon is there to assist us in finding insurance to meet our needs but, due to sheer volume, only telephone assistance may be available (by appointment). There may be group meetings taking place in more rural areas.
The deadline for Medicare is December 7th however it appears that it has been extended to December 31st.
